Portland Open Studios is happening again October 12, 13 and 19, 20. Open 10am to 4pm every day. One of these years I will keep my studio shut, so I can go and do the tour myself- it’s always so inspiring to see artists at work. This year however I will once again open my own studio and welcome the public. I’ve been busy in the clay studio. Lots of new work to discover!
Portland Open Studios is coming up again in October (second and third weekend). This year there will be a preview show where you can see pieces from many of the participating artists. This should be a great way to help you decide which studios to visit and plan your tour, not to mention an opportunity to mingle with the artists. you might even want to take home a piece or two as this is also a fundraiser for PDXOS with all art priced under $ 500. With cat ladies in the news lately, I made my contribution to the Dumpster Thriving vol.2 group show an alley cat lady. Artists were given a miniature dumpster and off we went! This should be a really fun opening night with a bunch of dumpster art and also a drag show. Woohoo!

Brother From Another Planet will be in a group show at Art at the Cave in Vancouver, Washington. The theme is Belonging and purchases benefit the Clark county YWCA. Opening this Friday August 2nd 5-8pm! The Vancouver arts and music fest coincides with this and there’ll be lots of goings ons all around downtown.
In June I rented a U-haul, emptied the contents of my studio into it and drove it all to Reedsport on the southern Oregon coast. Watch this video and you can feel like you were there too! Exhibition is up until July 26th at Mindpower Gallery at 417 Fir Ave, Reedsport, OR
Mark your calendars for this year’s Ceramic Showcase at the Oregon Convention Center, April 19th to 21st 2024. I’m up to my eyeballs in clay to get ready for it! The piece below is called Fa La Lala La. Sing it loud! A rare show of my paintings will be coming to the Goodfoot at the end of next month and run from March 28th to April 21st. These are versions of old master paintings that I painted while living in Berlin in 2019. I even got to experience some of the originals.
Never has January in Portland gone by so quickly. I had the best time helping out on the collaborative art project FathomPDX making reefs and corals for this immersive experience in downtown Portland. We transformed an empty shop floor into a land of many wonders in only a month. Coral reefs are only some icing on the underwater cake that is happening there! Fathom opened during the Portland Winter Lights Festival and is now gearing up to re-open even bigger and better in May. Follow their social media to stay up to date- I think great things will be coming. I hope to stay involved with this impressive project from time to time, as my other art endeavors allow.

The "Small Wonders" are slightly larger than the "Little Things" at a maximum of 12". They will be shown at the gallery alongside works by Yoshi Kitai and Matthew Letzelter. My Amphibimoms will travel to Vancouver for the occaision.

I am happy to report that my blobhouse line of garden planter designs is still going strong. My old business partner Georgetown Home and Garden retired this year but I am happy that with new partner Cohasset things are continuing swimmingly. Here is Diane and Susan from Cohasset at the big Atlanta gift show selling the ever growing family of blobs. There are a lot of new styles coming out soon, so keep your eyes out for those!!
I celebrated my new studio with a big two day party. Soooooo happy!
I am overjoyed to have moved into my brand new backyard studio. It is absolutely gorgeous with a clay studio downstairs and painting, sewing, office, shipping and everything else upstairs. I even have a balcony! And of course I painted it in the most vibrant colors. This is a life long dream come true and I couldn’t be happier!
Coming up very soon! I will have a shelf in the group booth this year. I’m still working my way towards having a full booth, if this year goes well. I am thrilled however, that my work was used in several of the advertising images.
Holiday Cheer at the Salty Teacup
I love St Johns! In the summer I participated in the St Johns Art Walk and had a splendid time. So I jumped on the opportunity to sell at the Salty Teacup again in December. The Salty Teacup is a charming boutique in downtown St Johns and they are doing different themed holiday artist markets in the weeks leading up to Christmas. The one I am participating in is called Holiday Cheer and I'm planning to bring some new work and old favorites, good and bad mushrooms among them.

This one is always fabulous and not to be missed. All art is 7" and under and can be taken home at time of purchase. Some of Portland finest will be there. From me this year, there will be a lots of Deer, some Feelings, Cat Stacks and more!
